Travel to Spain Fall 2009

Visit Valencia, host Spanish students in Boone and study entrepreneurship. Come learn about this exciting class at 5:00 PM, Thursday, March 19 in Raley 3010.

Appalachian State University and the Universidad Europea de Madrid in Valencia, Spain have teamed up to provide a course in international entrepreneurship to be offered between our two universities, CIS 3549-International Entrepreneurship and Global Technologies. The course has no prerequisites other than junior standing and is open to both business and non-business students. To keep costs to a minimum and insure a rich cultural experience, students on both sides will host each other in their homes. Travel to Spain will take place Nov 13-22.

Enrollment in this course is limited to 12 students. The extra cost for the travel is estimated at $1,650. The deadline for applying is March 23, 2009.

To apply, see Bryan Toney (Raley 1016, 262-6196, toneybc@appstate.edu) or Dawn Medlin (Raley 2103, 262-2411, medlinbd@appstate.edu) for a short interview then submit the following: A one page resume, a one page statement about what you expect to achieve by participating in the program and how it will benefit your long-term career objectives, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Participants will be notified of their acceptance before early registration begins for the fall semester. This course offering is contingent on final approvals from both ASU and UEM.
