2008 - 2009 Annual Report Released

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to read through it and learn about some of the exciting entrepreneurship programs we’ve helped develop or support on campus and throughout the region.

Below are just a few highlights from the last year:

* More than 2,000 students, faculty, staff and community members participated in entrepreneurship co-curricular, academic and outreach programs.

* The Center for Entrepreneurship helped develop five new programs:

o Dale Tweedy Mentoring Program for Entrepreneur Scholars
o Appalachian Entrepreneurs Community
o Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award
o Juicy Ideas creativity competition
o Realizing Green Business Opportunities conference.

* Enrollment in entrepreneurship courses at Appalachian State reached a record 573 students, most of which were taught by the Department of Management faculty members.

* 76 Appalachian State students traveled abroad as part of 5 different international entrepreneurship courses.

* The Center significantly expanded outreach programs to counties throughout northwestern North Carolina.
