This year’s 8th Annual Carole Moore McLeod Entrepreneur Summit was the most successful yet! We had over 50 business owners from the eastern seaboard participating via panel discussions and solo presentations. New Mentoring Program Participants

The Center for Entrepreneurship has accepted 11 new students with an interest in entrepreneurship into the exclusive Dale Tweedy Mentoring Program for Entrepreneur Scholars. They come from a variety of backgrounds, including appropriate technology, hospitality and tourism, sustainable development, industrial design, finance and banking, economics, and recreation management. We will begin the process of pairing each student with a mentor this summer, and commence in the fall with a dinner at the Broyhill Inn an Conference Center. Student Entrepreneur of the Year Awarded to Chris Cornwell

The Center for Entrepreneurship at Appalachian State University is pleased to announce the first ever Student Entrepreneur of the Year. The award was presented in front of more than 350 ASU students, faculty, staff and community members during the 2009 Young Entrepreneurs Symposium, to Eric Christianson Cornwell, a sophomore majoring in management with a concentration in entrepreneurship. Study Abroad: A unique exchange program between ASU and Belgium university

The Walker College of Business offers many international study opportunities. One of the more unique involves a semester-long international entrepreneurship course, which this year brought together students from Appalachian State and the Universite Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium. [ read ]
