When the question of "who can do this?" arises, a determined entrepreneur's answer is "I will." Appalachian State's Center for Entrepreneurship seeks out "I will" entrepreneurs:

  • students and faculty who want to turn their ideas into successful enterprises
  • startups looking for resources and assistance
  • successful entrepreneurs who want to share their experience and knowledge.

"The continual support and guidance from the ASU Center for Entrepreneurship has played a vital role in my success as a student and young business owner."

ARDI 8th Annual Leadership Summit

"Accelerating Our Economy: Tapping Creative Assets"

The Creative Economy is upon us, yet many of us aren't aware of it. A recent New York Times Magazine article, "Old School Economics," points out that there are more choreographers in today's workforce than metal-casters. ยน Not only are we in the Information Age, the Global Age, but we are also in the Creative Age. Even though many people think of artists when they hear the word "creative," the Creative Economy embodies more than art; it includes architects, designers, engineers, farmers, hoteliers, entertainers, storytellers, builders, construction workers. These people, their companies and their ideas are critical to our communities -- and they are becoming more relevant to economic development initiatives throughout North Carolina, especially western North Carolina.
